BIOS and UEFI Cooling Options

BIOS/UEFI have ability to configure fans:

  • quiet mode - reducing fan speed and allows higher temps to occur
  • balanced mode - normal setting by default
  • cool mode - fans run harder and faster (useful for overclocking)
  • fanless mode - tells motherboard not to control fans
  • custom mode - allows customization beyond preconfigured sets of quiet, balanced, and cool mode

Motherboard has built-in temp sensors
