Troubleshooting Methodology - the standard 6-step process for diagnosing and resolving problems:
- Identify problem - gather info from user, identifying changes made to system, perform backups when changes need to be made to system
- Establish theory of probable cause - questioning the obvious
- Test theory to determine the cause
- Establish plan of action to resolve problem and implement solution
- Verify full system functionality and implement preventative measures
- Document findings, actions and outcomes
